SKB cases have been on the road since 1977 and have spent a good deal of time flying equipment for military combat operations. These are tough cases built for a lifetime of service. Portable Rackmount Case Features Include

  • Standard 19” EIA rack width per EIA standards.
  • Frame with 10-32 threaded steel rails and aluminum cross components form an "H" shaped rigid configuration.
  • Rack depth, 20".
  • Removable front and rear doors are fitted with rubber gaskets for water resistant protection.
  • Recessed heavy-duty twist latches allow these cases to meet most ATA and military specifications.
  • 8 ea. HM-245 elastomeric, high damping, wide temp. range shock mounts. Load range 40 to 150 lbs.
  • Additional or stiffer shock mounts available and are easily field-installed (call for details & availability).
  • Easy-grip molded handles.
  • Molded-in lugs allow all sizes within the series to stack securely.
  • Casters are optional on the 20"d shock rack and are built into a caster board, attached by web straps.

SKB’s new Roto Shock Racks feature a 20" deep rack frame installed in a roto molded tough shell with an integrally molded valance that eliminates the metal valance on the outside of the case, coupled with a rubber gasket on both the front and rear doors for water resistant protection. The integrated molded valance, ergonomic handles, and recessed, heavy-duty twist latches allow these cases to meet most ATA and military specifications.

As well as roto molded toughness and ATA ratings, new elastomeric shock technology has replaced the metal coil system to provide an increased level of protection to valuable equipment. Field-replacing our standard shocks with other available elastomeric shocks can easily accommodate multiple weight bearing requirements. This new Shock series has the recognizable Roto X pattern and they are stackable within the series.

How to Measure a SKB Rack Case 

It can be confusing how to measure a shipping case because dimensions such as bottom, front, back, height, depth, width and length are relative to the function and position of the case. This is the standard SKB measurement system for their rackmount shipping / shockmount cases .
